Are the roads to Narooma open?
Yes, The Princes, Kings and Snowy Mountains highways have reopened and we are back in operation. Let’s go diving!

Where is Narooma?
Narooma is 4.5 hours south of Sydney, 3 hours from Canberra and 9 hours from Melbourne.

Should I book in advance?
In peak season trips are often booked out. We strictly limit the maximum number for each trip, so we recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Our tours also have minimum number requirements.

What do I need to bring?
You should bring all the good things! Swimmers, towel, sunscreen, hat, camera and a light jacket in case it gets cool. If you are not experienced on boats, consider taking seasick tablets – just in case!

Please be aware that there are no after hours chemists in Narooma.

If you are scuba diving don’t forget your certification card.

If you don’t have a cert card let us know, and we can look you up.

Do you have Guides in the water?
Yes. Of course! Don’t be complacent when booking any adventure tours.

We provide PADI Instructors/Dive Masters on every tour with 2-4 crew members looking after you. All staff are first aid trained and we have oxygen onboard our vessels.

Do you offer hire dive equipment?
Yes, we have an excellent range of diving gear for hire.

Do you have GoPros for hire?
Yes. You can bring your own Micro SD card or buy one from us on the day to take with you.
You can add GoPro hire with SD card purchase option on the Extras page, when you book your tour. Or, let us know by responding to your confirmation email once you have booked, or on the day.

Do you have gift vouchers available?
Yes, we have gift vouchers available for all our activities and diving courses, under the Gift Vouchers tab on our Book Now page.

These are fabulous for birthdays and wedding gifts!

Is there a toilet on board?
No sorry. There are public toilets at our meeting point

Are the tours weather dependant?
Yes, safety is our primary concern and crossing Narooma bar requires favourable conditions. This is why we have chosen the right vessels and crew for the job and why we ask you to contact us a few days before to check the weather. If we unfortunately have to cancel your trip we will try to reschedule at your convenience.

Where does the boat depart?
We leave from Apex Park boat ramp, Centenary drive, Narooma. There is FREE parking available and public toilets too. You can find us on google maps. Just search for Underwater Safaris Narooma.

How long are the tours?
Our snorkelling and whale watching tours are 3hrs.

Our double dive tours are 4.5hrs. This includes set up and thorough briefing.

Will my dive course certification be recognised internationally?
Yes.

Does it matter that you’re learning to dive by yourself?
Not at all. Over 70% of people who learn to dive with us enrol themselves online with PADI.

I know someone that is a certified diver. Can they dive with me during my course?
Yes, that’s a great idea. We recommend they join you for your final dives on the last day of your course.

How long will the PADI Open Water course take to complete?
You can complete the course over 2/3 days of diving with us. Please be mindful that the weather can affect this. You will need to complete the PADI online theory and medical questionnaire before your course starts.

For the PADI online medical questionnaire click HERE.

Where do you go & what do you see?
We primarily dive around Montague Island Nature reserve in the Batemans Marine Park. This is a 10-15 minute boat ride from our meeting point. All of our sites offer great ecological diversity and an abundance of marine life. Some of the commonly seen species include Australian/New Zealand Fur Seals, Turtles, Rays, Blue Groper, Port Jackson, Fiddler rays, Wobbegong, Dolphins, Octopus, Moray Eels, Grey Nurse sharks (November-April), Humpback (August- November).

What is the water temperature?
16-24°C

How long have you been teaching people to scuba dive?
Since 2005.
